Stefan Ahnhem was born (1966) in Stockholm, but grew up in Helsingborg, a town on the southwest coast of Sweden, close to Denmark. Some of his novels take place in Helsingborg, where the police often have to cooperate with the Danish colleagues in Helsingör (Elsinore), situated a 20-minute boat ride across Öresund , the strait which forms the Swedish-Danish border.
